This is no post that is going to talk about the controversy that is happening currently. I am not going to talk about the corruption, the hype, the fuss, that the current version of IPL is facing. I wanted to write about, why despite all this, I am glued to the game.
I was shocked when Dhoni, ended up saying during a presentation that the game is like lottery. Darn. It’s cricket. It can’t be equated to lottery. And, it was then, that I realised what disgrace it’s bringing to the sport as such, and what irritation hardcore enthusiasits of the purest form of cricket, the test matches, have to face.
IPL, if not anything, is entertaining. You idolize sportsmen – there is no greater fun in life. For me, it has been Sachin, ever since the first time, I started to know what cricket is. It was because of him, I realised what being passionate is. A mixture of madness, and undeterred respect, is what I have for him. And, he hits a ton, and I am happy here. So, that’s about it.It’s fun. I don’t know how anybody can even deny that. Support CSK, you have all your neighbours and friends watching the match. You jump for all shots, celebrate the victory, and isn’t that what enjoyment is, and doesn’t IPL promise that?
Am not being a responsible Indian. I mean, how can I not bother about politics affecting a sport? how can I not bother about so much money involved in the stakes of a simple game? How can I not bother about the pathetic state of this in the Indian continent, where as, in SA, the whole season, was the reason for an economic development?
It’s because, it is Cricket, and this, is India. No matter, what anybody does or says, we will still appreciate and entertain, and keep falling in love with the eleven men, again and again.
Adieu.
wow super o super
sigh! i’ve said enough. I dunno why you people couldn’t care less about ICL
It’s not about caring less pugs. It was a humble attempt, to just say, why I like the game. and that is all. I dont know the intricacies. anyway.. 🙂
Nice post…Liked it!
Cheers to the sport.

Same here.what a man he is! IPL also promises new heores by whom we are smitten 😉 isn’t it?AR for u and MV for me!
That is exactly what even I’m thinking of rite now… no matter who cheats, or what hapens, cricket will have the centre stage. Pathetic….
Pathetic, yeah, may be!!!
First of all, u have a nice blog. Good going 🙂
We Indians are madly passionate about cricket and I guess it will take centuries to keep us off from cricket.
We grumble, we complain, we bemoan – but at the end of the day you end up watching the Reserve Indian XI playing Zimbabwe – and that is exploited to the core by the BCCI!!!
We won’t change, will we? 😉
😀 ha ha, seriously. 😀
its India. Certain things wont change 🙂
I gtalk’ed with ashwin ravichandran 😀 😀 And haven’t been doing anything else then on 😀
With fanatics, its going to take a looong time, for people to get out of it 🙂
